Follow the online Story Map to learn about the history, management, science and enjoyment of the lake and surrounding watershed
Tables will be set up along the route with experts from various organizations providing unique insight and information about the area.

Welcome commentary and group start at 1pm
Start and Finish at the parking area by the tennis courts in Vilas Park, Madison, WI (at the end of Edgewood Ave.). Google map
You can also start and finish wherever you’d like along the route. This is an at-your-own-pace event.
There are two locations along the route for restrooms and water refill. Please wear helmets, bring water bottles and obey all traffic laws.

Table Information:
- Start/Finish: Friends of Lake Wingra will have maps and information about the event and their organization. Participate in Wisconsin Stormwater Week by helping clean-up trash and storm drains around Vilas Park and on the Lake Wingra Loop – grab clean-up supplies next to the Friends of Lake Wingra table.
- Wingra Dam: Explore local ecology and limnology with Dr. Adena Rissman (UW-Madison) and Dr. Adrianna Gorsky (Friends of Lake Wingra)
- Wingra Springs Parking Lot: UW Arboretum will have information about the Springs and Effigy Mounds found in the area
- Arboretum Visitor Center: Restrooms and water refill
- Viburnum and Arborvitae Garden: City of Madison Engineering Division will provide information on all things stormwater. Learn about the Wingra watershed flood studies and the water quality plan.
- Spring Trail Pond: Learn about the history of the Nakoma area of Madison with Stu Levitan
- Wheeler Council Ring: UW Arboretum will have information about the Council Ring, Wingra Oak Savanna Restoration and the Sycamore Tree
- Wingra Park: Free ice cream will be served from 1:30 pm until supplies run out. Dane County LWRD and Madison Area Municipal Stormwater Partnership will have a rainfall simulator to demonstrate what happens when rail falls on different surfaces. Destination Bicycle will be hosting bike lube/troubleshooting station. Restrooms and water refill available and Wingra Boats.
