Educational Institutions

  • Edgewood University
    • Without support from Edgewood University, FoLW would have faced extra difficulty in our earlier years. For years, they acted as our fiscal agent until we evolved into our own independent 501c3. We also work with liaisons at Edgewood to coordinate invasive species removal, gather advice when needed, and look for opportunities to have students help with our work!
  • UW – Madison
    • Arboretum
      • We constantly connect with the Arboretum to share our respective projects and work. Sometimes this includes providing volunteers for invasive species removal or collaborating on monitoring programs or educational projects.
    • Center for Limnology
      • Most recently we check in with their experts when we have questions or need an opinion on a chloride issue.
    • Morgridge Institute
      • Every fall and spring we utilize Badger Volunteers to help us accomplish a variety of tasks throughout the watershed!
  • UW Extension
    • We’ve worked with UW Extension to help with past strategic planning and also look for ways to use some of their programs to help our volunteers make an impact in the watershed. Storm drain stenciling is one example!
